RESIDENTIAL MEDICAL OFFICER (RMO)

Sinai Hospital Rongai is seeking a dedicated, competent, and patient-focused Residential Medical Officer (RMO) to join our clinical team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality medical care, support patient management across inpatient and outpatient services, and contribute to the delivery of safe and effective healthcare services.

Reporting To: Clinical Director

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments, examinations, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide timely medical care to inpatients, outpatients, and emergency cases as required.
  • Monitor patient progress and review treatment outcomes.
  • Perform medical procedures within the scope of practice and hospital protocols.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and participate in on-call duties.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare
  • professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and investigations.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare measures.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous medical education programs.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support infection prevention and control measures within the facility.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Valid medical practicing license and registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-internship clinical experience (preferred).
    Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
